Just Further Proof of the Sense of Entitlement & Prejudice in Everett

I don’t know why I even BOTHER to be surprised. It is pointless, the city is locked into the 1950’s & if they had their way Segregation would still be the law. So I read a story about a DEA drug bust, generally the Herald does NOT name folks busted in these raids but there it is in black & white: ALL hispanic names, so of course they ALL have to be illegals. You know… cause all of us dirty mexicans are just like that.

I did some checking & just put in drug bust for local news in the search bar & this is what I found. I found over 165 results but these are just the last few years. There was only ONE story where caucasian people were named & that was the Mayor of Granite Falls for a drug bust.

So now I know what my local paper’s position is on “race” which is so discouraging because the world is FULL of people who don’t act like this, or think like this, or don’t feel like this

So do you still believe that there is no bias in the media?

Mexican involved busts listed by the Herald:

Busts of two drug rings net 18

4 arrested in Everett meth bust; agents seize 26 pounds of drugs

16 indicted in drug cartel bust

Non-Mexican involed busts listed by the Herald

Monroe police make guns, drug bust

Meth bust could have Mexican cartel ties (could have mexican ties but it was caucasian people who were busted not mexicans)

Drug raids target gang

Count’s over: Police seized nearly 10,000 plants in pot bust

Tip leads to Monroe pot farm bust

Police make bust in their own bathroom

EVERETT — Federal agents said on Friday that they busted a ring trafficking guns and drugs out of Everett after a month-long investigation.
Those charged include: Juan Velasco San Juan, 35, and Gumercindo Guzman Torres, 39, both of Everett; Eder Mendoza Pino, 25, of Monroe; and Jesus Dominguez Duran, 25, of Lynnwood.
Five other men are expected to face state charges. Federal authorities didn’t name those suspects.
Investigators say the criminal enterprise was selling drugs and guns interchangeably.
“These arrests illustrate the connection between international drug trade and gun violence. This deadly combination boils down to two things: greed and power,” DEA Special Agent in Charge Matthew Barnes said in a press release.

The article says…
Some were from Everett, some were from Lynnwood, no where does it say they were illegals from south or central America or Mexico. Just proves to me that prejudice & ignorance are still the norm in Everett… sounds like a few folks in here still miss the 50’s segregation.I wonder what commentors reception to me would’ve been if I used my maiden name Brandia Bella Ochoa Perez… Nevermind: I don’t have to wonder anymore.

Oh by the way Mexicans born in America CAN have more than one last name that not “illegal”

“Most of it is the basis of our society today. What people complain so much about is that we get too much of “the wretched refuse” and not enough of the “yearning to be free”.”
I can’t argue with that brother. There are lots of times I’d have to reluctantly agree.
I still believe in the idea of our Democracy. It’s a work that’s always in progress.
Think if you had to live in the Middle East for 1000 years. Hardly a thing has changed ideologically. N. Korea is a wasteland.
At least we have a chance to reshape our destiny every 2-4 years. Then by amendments etc…
Yeah, I remember Castro opening the jails and pushing them off the plank toward Florida. It’s a thing that could happen again from anywhere on the planet. But the people closet are the most likely. Heck, Canadians come down here to buy all our dairy products. Not exactly a threat to national security. But there’s lots of folks that take advantage of our way of life. Kind of a compliment if you think about it.
If you have ever traveled the world. You’d see we are all the same. We like good music and food, we love our children and respect elders. We love to laugh and we all cry. We all walk under the same sun and moon. Yeah, we have stark contrasts in religious beliefs for instance. But my unit (2/7 1st Division) in Afghanistan is there for 2-7 tours because of the Afghan people. Not because they like playing in a 100 degree sand box. They have bonded with these people who supposedly hated us all. They won’t go home to their families and leave the families they have cared for and protected for all these years. Seriously…and 2/7 has the highest casualty rate last I checked. That’s sticking to your beliefs imo.The reason I bring it up is…
We may get mad and frustrated but in the end we are a very compassionate nation. It’d be impossible for me to ‘close the borders’ just because a few are criminal. The vast vast majority of people are good people no matter where you go in this world.
I grew up in a Latino neighborhood. They are fun, hardworking, family valued types. The few that ruin that image need to go back home via a kick in the tail. I just get a little dismayed when racists do the same thing to all Americans. They give us all bad name.
Just like the racists do to others…It only takes one to paint us all the same color. I don’t like it and will speak up every time.
But I hear ya dude…It gets old. We need to fix the problem.

I was forced to learn the Emma Lazarus poem inscribed at the base of the Statue of Liberty.
Most of it is the basis of our society today. What people complain so much about is that we get too much of “the wretched refuse” and not enough of the “yearning to be free”.
Even Castro took advantage of this “invitation” in 1980 when he many Cubans leave for the US. He even threw in for good measure all the contents of his prisons.
Here we gripe about those from Central America. Back east it’s also about the workers from Central America but also about the Eastern European/”Russian” gangsters.
Our open door policy is fine, it just needs to have a turnstile installed so there is a way to sort out the “the wretched refuse” that’s overwhelming us.

I know it seems trite, but when they read the article and the names, what was the first iota of a thought that crossed everyone’s mind? I really don’t care, I understand that they are just here to find a better way of life for their families (insurance and social security), but how about assimilating into our society and stop insulting our intelligence.

DEA JOKE !
The DEA and the ATF will come and arrest you and put you in prison but Eric Holder sits in the WhiteHouse and sells guns to the Drug Cartel and no one does a damn thing ! I would use this for my defense ! If you are going to put some in prison for these kind of crimes then all people who commit weapons crimes should be in jail including Eric Holder !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The liberal? Ummm…How about all of us. It is still America home of the free folks.
There’s issues with anything. Just because there are issues with immigration? That don’t mean vaporize the Constitution and our beliefs that built America.

DEA agents might be wise
to not talk about the gun violence. Especially after it’s been revealed that they were probably the biggest “gun runners” to the Mexican Cartels in recent years. Just by allowing gun sales that even the Gun Dealers said shouldn’t be allowed, they contributed to the death of a US law enforcement officer.
Once again there is a common thread. Drugs, Illegally Possessed Guns, Gangs, and Illegal Immigrants. Only thing missing, so far, is how many times these actors have been through the Justice System already.

I didn’t ‘notice’ either. On rare occasions the same article is amended w/o any notice to include a glaring ommition.(spell) I’m not saying my comprehension is perfect. Often when I am tired, hungry or too hot I space out on things.
It’s an honest mistake in my view. Not a deliberate attempt to mislead. Three of us ‘missed’ if they were undocumented or not, which leads me to believe there was an edit. But again, it could have been me.

C’mon 2cents…That’s not fair at all at the very least. It has nothing to do with being PC. I rarely if ever am PC because I believe in free speech. But there is decorum. If we/you find out they are undocumented? Then fine. But you risk getting a racist tag by broad brushing undocumented folks.
I assure you, they will be deported in Felony type situations. Do as you wish. But a friendly suggestion is don’t jump the gun on such issues. The reason is, undocumented folks lay low and obey the law by instinct. Everyone on the planet has a good grasp of right and wrong.

I really dislike illegal immigrants, and also hate it when immigrants dont make an effort to learn English.
The tax payers have been paying for the “English Second Language classes” at schools or at other government agencies and then trying to push for more government workers to have to speak another language other than English.
While the names listed may be Spanish/Mexican surnames, we dont actually know if they are legal or illegal immigrants. Some may have been born here, which makes them citizens.
Those that are illegal, should be sent back to where they came from maybe after spending time in jail or prison, or maybe the idea of having them assigned to a new federal prison overseas in Afghanistan. Lets see them standing guard on trucks in Afghanistan without weapons. After a year, they get to go back home, where ever that may be.
I learned very basic Gerrman when I was stationed in the Army. Enough for directions, get food, and that helped me out a lot so I didnt become a barracks rat that never leave the kassern (base).
Maybe the Herald will do a follow up story and tell how many of those arrested are American citizens, and what type of immigrants. Or maybe not. Your postings can be banned for life if you are not more careful.

This comment may get removed by the nazis that police the comments here and censor anything that isn’t warm and fuzzy, but here goes anyway…. Keep up the good housekeeping efforts and get the illegals out of our neighborhoods, off of our streets and escort them back to where they came from. I think that illegal immigrants are the entire reason why this city, county and our entire United States is the cesspool that it has become. So much for open borders.

DEA arrests 9 in bust of drug, gun ring in Everett
    By Diana Hefley, Herald Writer

EVERETT — Federal agents said on Friday that they busted a ring trafficking guns and drugs out of Everett after a month-long investigation.

A Drug Enforcement Administration task force seized nearly three pounds of heroin and a pound of methamphetamine during the investigation, according to federal authorities. A person working with police also bought 14 guns from the suspects, including seven shotguns, two rifles and five handguns.

Some of the weapons had been reported stolen in various cities around the Puget Sound.

Four men were being charged in federal court with drug trafficking and being illegal aliens in possession of guns.

No other details about the investigation were immediately available.

SO I SEE THIS FORMER DEM’S REMARK & FLIPPED: I am so glad that I actually included the article in this story

Maybe you should have read the article when it was first written

No where in it did it say at that time that the men were illegals. The herald does that a lot.

Don’t presume to tell me that I have to learn what the Constitution is about I probably know more about Constitutional & Federal Law then most people learn in a lifetime because of all the ways the city has violated all of the above.

As for “my people” type in “drug bust” in the search bar of this newspaper, 164 local results only in 5 of those are the people named. All hispanics & the Mayor of Gold Bar.

This was the original story, I did a blog post about it so this was the original form: It got me 3 visits from the Herald today & as well as 28 visits from the Dept of Defense… (I have a tracker on my pages)
